Ratings (1-5)
Accessibility – 3/5
The campground is accessible only from the east-bound lane of divided highway TX-6. Lanes in the park are reasonably well-maintained gravel, although several areas have mud puddles and ruts after rain and could use attention. The park has pull-thru or back-in RV sites and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have some provisions for Universal access.
Facilities/Amenities – 3/5
The park amenities include full hookup 50/30 or 30 amp RV sites, restrooms, showers, laundry, pavilion w/picnic area, and swimming pool. Facilities are clean, reasonably well-maintained, but could use renovation.
Site quality – 3/5
RV sites are full hookup with 50/30 or 30 amp electric. Park sites are pull-thru or back-in, gravel, clean, and some have shade trees.
Scenic Value – 4/5
The campground is set in a relaxing countryside of rolling grassy meadow and shady woodland – right next to scenic Shaw Creek.
Location/Isolation – 4/5
The campground is in a peaceful rural area and is generally quiet, but can get some traffic noise from nearby highway TX-6. Sites are fair sized and do not feel crowded.
Paws Friendliness – 3/5
The campground is pet friendly, with gravel lanes and expansive grassy areas, but does not have cleanup stations or an enclosed off-leash pet run. The campground is large enough for a good walk with your pet.
Overall Rating – 3/5
Overall, the Waco RV Park is a convenient place to stay while visiting the area. We enjoyed our short stay and would visit another time.
