Description
The Shreveport / Bossier City KOA Journey is a nicely landscaped, quiet, and well-maintained campground nestled amidst whispering southern pines. Friendly staff add a healthy dose of southern hospitality to the stay. Conveniently close to Interstate I-20, the park is a great place to stop and relax while passing through this area of Louisiana. The campground is a good base for exploring the local Louisiana cuisine and area attractions.

We stayed for two-nights at the Shreveport / Bossier City KOA Journey in mid October, 2019.
Cost
For two-nights at a 50 amp full hookup gravel pull-thru site, we paid about $49 per night including taxes and Value Kard Rewards Discount. There were no additional fees for pets or an extra vehicle.

Accessibility – 5/5
The campground is easily accessible from Interstate I-20 via paved streets. Lanes in the park are reasonably well-maintained asphalt or gravel. The park has pull-thru and back-in RV sites and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.
Facilities/Amenities – 4/5
The park amenities include full hookup 50 or 30 amp RV sites, tent sites, cabin rentals, restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable TV, propane service, camp store, pavilion, playground, enclosed pet run, and seasonal swimming pool. Facilities are clean and well-maintained.
Site quality – 5/5
RV sites are full hookup with 50 or 30 amp electric, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. Park sites are pull-thru or back-in, clean, and many have shade trees. Site surface varies – concrete pad, asphalt, gravel, or grass. Many RV sites have concrete patios – deluxe patio sites and deluxe cabins are available.
Scenic Value – 4/5
The campground is nicely landscaped, clean, and park-like with many southern hardwood, pine, and ornamental shade trees.
Location/Isolation – 4/5
The campground is adjacent to a busy street, but set back far enough and with enough foliage border to be quiet. Sites are fair sized and do not feel crowded.
Paws Friendliness – 5/5
The campground is pet friendly, with cleanup stations and two K9 Kamp enclosed off-leash pet runs. The campground is large enough for a good walk with your pet.
Overall Rating – 4/5
Overall, the Shreveport / Bossier City KOA Journey is a convenient and relaxing place to stay while visiting the Shreveport area. We enjoyed our short stay and would visit another time.

Are you and Kim traveling again?
Hi Rita, We’re currently sheltering in place in Iowa. Come Fall we will probably travel back to SoCal for the winter. If things are looking better we may take more time going back & visit a few interesting places along the way… For now, caution is the word – this pandemic is by no means over.
