The Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA Holiday is a peaceful, nicely landscaped, and well-maintained campground featuring many amenities and recreational activities. The park is conveniently located just off Interstate I-70, to the east of Kansas City, and is a great place to stay while visiting the many KC area attractions.

We stayed for two-night at the Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA Holiday in late September, 2019. The park staff were friendly at check-in.
Cost
For two-nights at a 50 amp full hookup gravel pull-thru site, we paid about $48 per night including tax and KOA Value Kard discount. There were no additional fees for pets or an extra vehicle.

Accessibility – 5/5
The campground is easily accessible from Interstate I-70 via paved streets. Lanes in the park are well-maintained asphalt or gravel. The park has pull-thru and back-in RV sites, as well as tent sites and rental cabins. The park can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.
Facilities/Amenities – 5/5
The park amenities include full hookup 50/30 amp RV sites, tent areas, restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable TV, propane service, firewood sales, swimming pool, camp store (with ice cream & RV parts), pavilion, rec & meeting hall, mini golf, bike rentals, playground, jump pad, Cold River Gem Mine, volleyball, horseshoes, dump station, and K9 Kamp pet run. Facilities are clean and well-maintained.
Site quality – 4/5
RV sites are full hookup with 50/30/20 or 30/20 amp electric, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. Park sites are pull-thru or back-in, gravel, clean, and most have shade trees. Sites feature a picnic table, as well as fire ring and/or grill box. The tent area is on a grassy lawn. The campground also features deluxe RV patio sites, deluxe tent sites, and deluxe rental cabins. Some RV sites are on a slope and less than level.
Scenic Value – 4/5
The campground is green, shady, and features some nice landscaping touches.
Location/Isolation – 4/5
The campground feels peaceful, but gets traffic noise from the adjacent interstate. Sites are fair sized and do not feel crowded.
Paws Friendliness – 5/5
The campground is pet friendly, with cleanup stations and a K9 Kamp enclosed off-leash pet run. The campground is large enough for a fair walk with your pet.
Overall Rating – 4/5
Overall, the Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA Holiday is a convenient place to stay while passing through the area. We enjoyed our short stay and would visit another time.
