Details

We stayed for three nights at the Heyburn Riverside RV Park in mid August, 2019. The camp host was friendly at check-in.

The park closes for the winter from December 1st through March 1st.

Cost

For three nights at a 30 amp full hookup gravel pull-thru site, we paid $24.30 per night, including tax and Good Sam discount. There were no additional fees for pets or an extra vehicle. Since we had called the campground and made reservations with the camp host, we paid in cash. Camp hosts only accept cash or checks – credit cards are accepted online through Access Idaho eGovernment service provider.

Ratings (1-5)

Accessibility – 4/5

The campground is easily accessible from Interstate I-84 via US-30 and paved streets. Lanes in the park are well-maintained gravel. The park has 29 RV sites – pull-thru and back-in – and can accommodate large rigs. There are several paved RV sites designated for Universal Access, as well as provisions for Universal Access at park facilities.

Facilities/Amenities – 4/5

The park amenities include full hookup 30 amp electrical RV sites, picnic tables, restrooms, showers, and Wi-Fi. The park bathhouse is across the entry/exit lane from the RV park and is locked at night – rigs should be self-contained, but Porta-Potties are available for after-hours use. The Riverside Park also features a hiking trail, playground, picnic area with shelters, amphitheater, and boat slips. The Mini Cassia Chamber-Commerce visitor center is located across from the RV park entrance.

Site quality – 4/5

RV sites are full hookup with 30 amp electric, concrete slab patio, grassy lawns, picnic table, and Wi-Fi. Park sites are pull-thru or back-in, gravel, and clean. Sites have good separation- some sites have shade trees.

Scenic Value – 5/5

The campground is very basic, but extremely well maintained. The rest of the Riverside Park is very nicely landscaped, well-maintained, and features wonderful views of the Snake River.

Location/Isolation – 4/5

The campground is generally quiet, but can get some rail or traffic noise. Depending on wind direction, you may notice some agricultural or feed mill odors. Sites are fair sized and do not feel crowded. The park really does feel like a peaceful green oasis.

Paws Friendliness – 4/5

The campground is pet friendly and has a designated pet walk area. The park does not, however, have cleanup stations (at least, we didn’t notice any) or an enclosed pet run. The riverside hiking trails provide ample opportunity for long walks with your pet.

Overall Rating – 4/5

Overall, the Heyburn Riverside RV Park is a lovely place to stay while passing through the area. We enjoyed our short stay and would certainly visit another time.
