Ratings (1-5)
Accessibility – 4/5
The campground is easily accessible via paved roads. Lanes in the park are well-maintained asphalt. The park has back-in sites and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.
Note that lanes are narrow at some sites and may be difficult for large rigs to maneuver into – especially with positioning of site markers, culverts, landscaping elements, and congested parking on neighboring sites.
Facilities/Amenities – 3/5
The campground offers basic amenities including partial hookup (water/electric) RV or tent sites, a rental cabin, RV dump station, restrooms and coin-op showers. The park features hiking trails, picnic and fitness areas, basketball court, horseshoe pits, volleyball court, playgrounds, fishing ponds, and a rental pavilion. Facilities are clean and well-maintained.
Site quality – 4/5
Sites have partial hookups with 50/30/20 amp electric, fire ring, and a picnic table. Site pads and parking are paved. Sites are grass & dirt with fair separation between sites. Most sites have shade trees.
Note that site size varies significantly. Be careful when booking reservations to get a site large enough for your rig. Also note some sites are more difficult to maneuver a large rig into due to constricted lanes and placement of drainage or landscaping elements.
Scenic Value – 5/5
The campground is nicely landscaped, well-maintained and has nice views of the coastal hills, woodlands, marshes and ponds. This is a great place to relax and do a little bird and wildlife viewing.
Location/Isolation – 4/5
The campground is nestled in the coastal hills on the outskirts of Oceanside and feels like an oasis of peace set apart from the bustling coastal community. Although the park is bounded on two sides by Highway 76 and a busy residential street, road noise is not very noticeable.
Paws Friendliness – 4/5
The campground and park trails are pet friendly, with cleanup stations but no enclosed pet run. The campground is fair sized and there are about 4.5 miles of trails throughout the park – plenty of opportunity for long walks with your pet.
Overall Rating – 4/5
Overall, the Guajome Regional/County Park campground is a lovely place to stay when visiting Oceanside. We enjoyed our stay here and would visit another time.

Can people kayak or paddle board in the lake?
Hi Terri, Good question! I don’t think the park allows those activities, but check the park website again or call the park office. Good luck! Jerry
