We stayed for 2 nights at Grand View Cafe and RV Park in mid July, 2018. This is a basic, full service, clean, and well-maintained park. Staff was friendly, the pizza was good and the scenery was awesome!
Cost
For 2 nights at a 50 amp full hookup pull-thru site we paid about $46 per night, including tax.

Facilities/Amenities – 3/5
The campground offers basic amenities, including full hookup sites with 50/30/20 amp or 30/20 amp electric service, tent sites, RV dump station, restrooms, coin-op showers and laundry, free WiFi, and cable TV. The park also has a nice café.
Site quality – 3/5
RV Sites have full hookups with 50/30/20 amp or 30/20 amp electric, cable TV, and a picnic table. Sites are gravel with little separation between sites. A few deluxe RV or tent sites have large grassy areas. The campground has back-in, pull-thru and tent sites.
Scenic Value – 5/5
The park is located between the Talkeetna and Chugach Mountain Ranges at the base of Sheep Mountain Dall Sheep Reserve, and just a few miles from Matanuska Glacier. As such, the park has stunning vistas of forested slopes and rugged mountains.
Location/Isolation – 4/5
The park is generally quiet, despite being just off the Glenn Highway. The park feels quite isolated as it is far from the nearest town and the highway is not very busy, especially at night.
Paws Friendliness – 3/5
The campground is pet friendly, but does not have an enclosed pet run or cleanup bag stations. The park is small and takes a few laps for a decent walk with your pet.
Overall Rating – 4/5
Overall, the Grand View Cafe and RV Park is a wonderful place to stay while travelling between Anchorage and Tok or Valdez, or as a base while exploring the many attractions around the Glacier View area. We enjoyed our stay here and would certainly visit another time.
