Description
The Golden Spike RV Park is conveniently located just a short distance from interstate I-15 along highway US-91. This small privately owned park is nicely landscaped, well-maintained and features a nice view of nearby Wellsville Mountains. This campground is a great place to stop over while passing through the Salt Lake City area or to stay a few extra nights and explore nearby attractions.

Details
We stayed for one night at the Golden Spike RV Park in late-June of 2017 while waiting for completion of truck repairs. The campground staff was friendly and helpful during the reservation process and at check-in. Kudos to the park staff for accommodating us on short notice!
Cost
For seven nights at a 50 amp full hookup pull-thru site, we paid about $35 per night, including Good Sams discount, county & state taxes. The park has weekly and monthly rates. The park did not charge extra for pets or an extra vehicle.

Grocery stores, restaurants, and automotive services are nearby in Brigham City. A larger choice of shopping and services is available in Ogden, Utah (25 miles).
Ratings (1-5)
Accessibility – 3/5
The campground is easily accessible from US-191. Lanes in the park are well-maintained asphalt. The park has pull-thru and back-in sites, as well as tent sites, and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.
Facilities/Amenities – 3/5
The campground offers basic amenities, including full hookups, tent sites, cable TV, laundry room, WiFi, picnic area, small playground, restrooms and showers. The park has a well stocked RV parts and supply store. Grocery stores, restaurants, automotive and other services are nearby in Brigham City. Park grounds and facilities are clean and very well maintained.
Site quality – 4/5
Sites are basic, including only the full or partial hookups with 50/30/20 amp electric, and cable TV. Sites are level, surfaced with gravel, and have a nice grassy median area with picnic table. Sites are wide enough to accommodate slide-outs and awnings, but otherwise have little separation between sites. Some sites have shade trees.
Scenic Value – 3/5
The campground is within a residential and light shopping area near Brigham City so the area right around the park is not too scenic. The park does have nice views of semi-rural open spaces and the scenic Wellsville Mountains to the east. The park is neatly landscaped with grassy sites and some shade trees.
Location/Isolation – 3/5
The campground is next to a quiet residential neighborhood, but backs against US-91 and is near a truck stop and Wal-Mart shopping center, so receives some road noise. A railroad runs about a half mile from the campground, so distant train horns and rail traffic are heard at times.
Paws Friendliness – 3/5
The campground is pet friendly, but does not have an enclosed pet run or cleanup stations. The campground is not that large so it may take several laps to get a decent walk with your pet. The green grassy sites are very nice for pets.
Overall Rating – 3/5
Overall, the Golden Spike RV Park is a convenient place to stop for a few nights. We certainly wouldn’t mind visiting again when passing through the area.
Additional info
Internet access
We received a moderate 4G Verizon signal at this campground. We did not need our cellular antenna and booster to improve MiFi hot spot internet access. The campground provided free WiFi, but we did not use this during our stay.
Water Quality
The water at this campground tested moderately hard, but we did not bother hooking up our water softener for just a one-night stay.
