Fort Smith-Alma RV Park is a scenic, quiet, and well-maintained campground conveniently located near the junction of Interstates I-49 and I-40 in Alma, Arkansas. This lovely, forested park is a great place to stop while passing through the Fort Smith area of western Arkansas.

We stayed for two-nights at the Fort Smith-Alma RV Park in mid October, 2019.

Cost

For two-nights at a 50 amp full hookup gravel pull-thru site, we paid about $41 per night including tax and Good Sam discount. There were no additional fees for pets or an extra vehicle.

Accessibility – 5/5

The campground is easily accessible from Interstate I-49 via paved streets. Lanes in the park are well-maintained asphalt. The park has pull-thru RV sites and can accommodate large rigs. Campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.

Facilities/Amenities – 4/5

Park amenities include full hookup 50 or 30 amp RV sites, water and electric tent sites, primitive tent area, rental cabins, restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable TV, propane service, camp store, swimming pool, and playground. Facilities are clean and reasonably well-maintained, but could use renovations.

Site quality – 4/5

RV sites are full hookup with 50 or 30 amp electric, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. Sites are pull-thru, gravel, and clean. Most sites have shade trees, picnic tables and a grill box, while a few sites also have a concrete patio. The primitive tent area is on a grassy lawn near a pond.

Scenic Value – 5/5

This sprawling campground campus is nicely forested with southern pines and hardwoods, has rolling grassy meadows, and a large fishing pond. Grounds are well maintained and feels peaceful and park-like.

Location/Isolation – 5/5

The campground is set far enough back from streets and the interstate to feel like a peaceful and quiet oasis. Sites are large, have good separation, and do not feel crowded.

Paws Friendliness – 4/5

This park is pet friendly, has cleanup stations, and is large enough for a good walk with your pet.

Overall Rating – 4/5

Overall, the Fort Smith-Alma RV Park is a lovely and convenient place to stay while passing through the Fort Smith area. We enjoyed our short stay and would certainly visit another time.
