Ratings (1-5)
Accessibility – 5/5
The campground is easily accessible via paved roads from Highway CA-99 and the Rosedale Highway. Park lanes are wide, well-maintained asphalt. The park has both pull-thru and back-in sites and can accommodate large rigs. Sites are nicely angled for easy access. The campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.
Facilities/Amenities – 5/5
The campground offers many amenities, including full hookup sites, restrooms and showers, WiFi, 60 channel cable TV, laundry rooms, propane service, dump station and water fill, clubhouse with recreation room and fitness center, and swimming pool with spa. The camp store has basic groceries, RV supplies, souvenirs and tourist info for the local area.
The park also features amenities for groups, including banquet/meeting hall, full kitchen, and large barbecue.
Site quality – 5/5
Sites have full hookups with 50/30/20 amp electric, concrete patio, WiFi, and 60 channel cable TV. Sites are level compacted soil/gravel, with nice grassy areas between sites. Many sites have shade trees.
Scenic Value – 3/5
The park is nicely landscaped and immaculately maintained, with large grassy areas, many shade trees, and flower beds. The surrounding area is less attractive, though, as the park is set amidst the urban sprawl of Bakersfield.
Location/Isolation – 3/5
The park is an oasis of green amidst the bustling urban sprawl of Bakersfield. The campground is relaxing, but does get noise from the freeways and low flying aircraft.
Paws Friendliness – 4/5
The campground is pet friendly and has DogiPot cleanup stations, but not an enclosed pet run. The park is large enough for a fair walk with your pet. The large grassy areas in the park are nice for pets, but the concrete and asphalt surfaces can become too hot for sensitive paws later in the day. There is a gate with access to the river walk along the Kern River behind the campground.
Overall Rating – 4/5
Overall, the Bakersfield River Run RV Park campgrounds is a nice place to stay while visiting Bakersfield. We enjoyed our stay here and would certainly visit again.

Thank you for the great review. We loved having you at the park. Look forward to having you back if you are in the area again. I noticed that you didn’t see the DogiPot Stations. We have them located at each trash enclosure. We will try to make them more clearly marked in the future. It looks like you have travelled to some pretty amazing places and we are honored to be included in that list.
Thanks for the correction, Ryan – somehow missed that. I’ve updated the post. Take care & we hope to stay with you again, sometime in the future. 🙂
