This is a lovely and relaxing park to stop at while traveling the Yellowhead Highway or for a longer stay in the Houston area.

Toad River Lodge is located at mile 422 of the Alaska Highway in a remote area of stunning natural beauty. The lodge is right next to a small, lovely,  beaver-dammed lake and is surrounded by forested slopes and rugged, snowy mountains. The lodge features a small, big-rig friendly RV park, tent sites, and rental cabins. This is a lovely and relaxing place to stop while travelling the Alaska Highway.

Westwind RV Park is a basic, clean, big-rig friendly campground conveniently located on the outskirts of Chetwynd, British Columbia, Canada. The park has nice views of rolling forested hills and is bordered on one side by woodland. This is a convenient park to stop at when passing through Chetwynd or for a longer stay while exploring the surrounding area.

Around Stewart and Hyder

(August 3 – 10, 2018) Stewart, BC

After a three-night stay at Iskut, BC, we headed on down the Cassier Highway, BC-37. At the Meziadlin Junction, we turned on the Glacier Highway, BC-37a, towards Stewart, BC. This route took us by Meziadlin Lake and through a narrow ice-carved valley with spectacular glacier-dotted mountains along the way. Waterfalls cascaded off the rocky slopes, a river foaming with rapids paralleled the road, and glaciers pushed down side valleys.

The Bellingham / Lynden KOA is a beautifully landscaped campground set amidst the spectacular scenery of northern Washington. The park is close to old town Lynden with its historic buildings, windmills, specialty shops, and Pioneer Museum commemorating the area’s Dutch heritage. The park is conveniently located just a short distance from two US/Canada border crossings. This KOA is a peaceful and relaxing place to stop while visiting the area.
