(Mid August – mid October, 2019) Bidding farewell to friends in the Salt Lake City area, we set our sights on our next major goal – visiting family and friends in Iowa. From Provo we cut through the scenic Wasatch Mountains via Provo Canyon and soon merged onto Interstate I-80 for a straight shot east to Iowa.

The Cheyenne KOA Journey is a well-maintained basic campground in the high plains and big sky country of eastern Wyoming. The campground is conveniently located near Interstate I-80 on the east side of the historic cattle town of Cheyenne. The park is a great place to stop while passing through the area or for a longer stay to explore the many historical sights of Wyoming’s Capital.

(Mid-August, 2019) After successfully finishing repairs on our trailer slide-out in Medford, Oregon, we headed east towards Bend, Oregon. Our winding route via highways OR-62, OR-230, and US-97 took us through the stunning scenery of the Cascade Range in Central Oregon. Our plans were to head east and spend some quality time with family in Iowa.

This park is nicely landscaped, clean, well-maintained, and has easy access to the riverfront hiking trail. This is a lovely and peaceful park to stay at while passing through the area or while enjoying picnicking, fishing, boating, or other recreation activities on the Snake River.

This big-rig friendly resort is is a great base from which to explore the many restaurants, breweries, and entertainment venues around Bend, as well as the stunning scenery and outdoors recreation activities of Central Oregon.
